Not too long ago, I was digging through an old hard drive and stumbled on my concept art folders from my time on Orbus VR. Being the media preservation nerd I am, I thought it would be a good idea to create an archive of all that work, especially with the recent news that Orbus’ servers will be shutting down. This project is so interesting for me to look back on. The pace of development was so fast that I legitimately don’t remember doing a lot of this work. That combined with the way my stylistic sensibilities have diverged in the years since doing these drawings lets me look at them as audience instead of creator, and I see the appeal now.
Shoutout to one of the best communities for a game that I’ve ever seen, I hope you can extract some joy from these heaps of doodles and daydreams.
Disclaimer: This is in no way an official archive. I haven’t been associated with Orbus or Ad Alternum since 2020. All thoughts, opinions, and musings are my own and don’t reflect the views, experience, plans, or anything else of the OrbusVR team or parent company.
Double Disclaimer: I’m piecing this history together exlusively off my art folder and admittedly shoddy memory. If any Orbus old-heads notice any inconsistencies or have correction, feel free to e-mail me and I’ll make any edits and credit the contributors.
